Crisis.

Over the course of our lives, we go through a number of psychological crises. A crisis is a precondition for growing and getting to know yourself – yet it can also hold us back and leave us stuck. A crisis is a psychological reaction to something you are exposed to, where your previous experience and ways of coping fall short.

How a crisis becomes a turning point where new perspectives take shape.

Sune Pejtersen

About me.

I have experience of therapy with children, young people and adults.

Language is the central medium of therapeutic change. In our conversations, I create a space where you feel seen, heard and understood. This is the foundation on which development becomes possible.

I grew up with three languages and have a feel for linguistic and cultural nuances – which means I can offer therapy in more than one language.

My therapeutic approach draws on elements of narrative, psychodynamic and cognitive therapy. In sessions with children and young people, I also use the neuroaffective method.

My approach combines empathetic listening with analysis. Together we identify recurring thought patterns, feelings and actions, and I support your work towards positive change. This opens up new perspectives which, through change, lead to greater coherence, inner balance and a noticeably higher quality of life.

At the heart of my work is the transition from words to impact – and from impact to change.

What does a psychology session look like?

We use the first session partly to get an overview of the topic or topics you'd like to talk about, and to set out a broad plan for the course ahead.

When you're in session with me, you and your needs are the focus. I listen to you and give you feedback. You're free to choose which thoughts you want to share with me – things you wonder about, things you find hard to understand, things that hurt or something else entirely. You have my full attention and acceptance. Talking about things that hurt can be difficult, but you'll often find that it feels good afterwards. At the end of a session I may give you a small task to take home, if it's relevant to your situation.

I take an appreciative approach to my clients – I meet you with respect and in a way that fosters trust and a good relationship. Scientific studies have shown that good contact and a good relationship between client and therapist are the most important precondition for a successful course of therapy.

It's impossible to say in advance how long your course should be, as it depends on the issue and on your wishes. It can be anything from 1-2 sessions up to a process lasting many months. Whatever the case, you always have the right to end a course yourself, whenever it suits you.

“Overall I am very satisfied with my course of therapy. I'm a little nervous about being 'on my own' now, but I've learned lots of tools and things I can think back on if some of the same challenges take up too much space again.”

“Needed someone to listen and an overview after a chronic illness diagnosis, got help handling my feelings. It helped to put things into words and to hear that I wasn't alone with the feeling. That my feelings were quite normal in a period like that.”
